About the Class:

 

 

Professor Dalia Safwat developed and designed this curriculum in an effort to make the grammar easily digestible for her students.

The Program is divided into three Phases :
Phase One : Beginners Level to Level Three
Phase Two: Level Four to Level eight.
Phase Three: Study from the books of the ‘Ulema (Muslim scholars ) of the past and present (student chooses the books).

Student progress evaluation:
The student will be verbally evaluated and given their progress during the course of the level. Please take heed to the professor's evaluation, as this will give you an idea of your strengths and weaknesses before you take the exams. You are also encouraged to ask the professor about your progress and what areas are in need of improvement.

Grades
Grades are based on percentage: Mid-Term
25% Class participation
25% Quizzes
50% Exam
Grades are based on percentage: Final

The percentage of the midterm and final exams will be added in order to determine the final grade.

Exams
Each student will be given a midterm exam after having covered half of the textbook and given a final exam after completing the last half of the textbook. The exams will cover the lessons that were previously given. For example, after you've completed half of the textbook, you will be given a midterm exam on ALL of the material covered to this point. Furthermore, after completing the second half of the book, you will be given a final exam on ALL of the material covered to this point .

Placement test and Student schedule:

Students are required to take a placement test to determine their starting level.

The placement test is divided into 4 categories.
• Reading
• Comprehension
• Grammar
• Conversation

The score from the test is based upon the average taken from the percentage of each category.

The class schedule is on Class Registration and Payment .

Classes will be held twice a week for Two hours a day .

Supplies and computer requirements
Each student will need:
• A three ring binder with three subjects titled class work,homework (waajib) and dictation (‘imlaa)
• A ruler to make vocabulary charts
• A pen and or pencil (different colors are optional)
• Head phones
• Microphone
• DSL, cable or satellite internet connection.
• (Optional) a scanner
